NJHC Car Treks invite you to discover the hidden history, natural wonders, and scenic backroads of the Highlands Region, an expanse of the Appalachian Mountains encompassing parts of seven counties in northwestern New Jersey. Each Car Trek provides an expertly crafted route (50 – 70 miles in length) and a tour packet that provides interpretive details about select points of interest along the route. All proceeds from the Car Trek benefit the education and advocacy programs of the New Jersey Highlands Coalition.
