Hop in your car and join us for the Fall 2021 Highlands Car Trek this year featuring the historic bridges of the Highlands!

Join us for a 75-mile tour of the forests, scenic vistas, rolling farm fields and quaint villages frozen in time. We bring you to the many places where you’ll say, “I can’t believe this is New Jersey”.

We will start registration at 10:00am at Valley Shepherd Creamery in Long Valley, where you can try some delicious, award-winning cheese made on their farm before you hit the road.*

Our turn-by-turn route instructions include descriptions of the natural and historic features that combine with the region’s legendary natural beauty to make a memorable road trip with places you’ll want to revisit. This year’s trek will feature the quaint, historic stone arch and iron truss bridges that were featured in Skylands Visitor Magazine.

We will finish the trip at Four Sisters Winery, where you can enjoy a delicious glass of vino and a bite to eat.*

There will be a photo contest with a prize; a free ticket to a Barefoot Grape Stomping from Four Sisters Winery! Tag us in your photo on social media, and may the best snapshot win!

No experience needed! All instructions are provided and the car trek is intended for novice drivers and more experienced drivers alike. This event is organized and sanctioned by the Raritan Valley Sports Car Club Inc.

$25/Car. Suggested Donation of $10/person. Your purchase helps us protect the beautiful Highlands of New Jersey.

Rules for participation:

The driver must be licensed to drive the vehicle. Both proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license must be presented during rally registration.

The navigator must be at least 9 years old. The navigator must have a writing board (clipboard).

Children age 9 or under can ride in the vehicle during the event.

All individuals in the vehicle must wear seat belts at all times.

The vehicle must have a current registration, and be legal to drive on public roads in New Jersey and New York State.

A set of General Instructions (GIs) and Route Instructions (RIs) will be distributed after registration and prior to the start of the car trek.

The Car Trek Master and Volunteers will be available during registration and will be happy to answer questions and give advice.

The Route Instructions will provide teams with detailed information on the route of the car trek.
