Running on Empty By Brandon Fetch

Welcome to 2018! The Region wishes you a prosperous, and fast, new year!

Just a quick blurb to start things off as there are a couple of immediate, and important, events in this random, cold, snowy, rainy, hot, cold January:

Our annual awards and volunteer party is happening the last weekend in January – the 28th to be exact. At this event we will be presenting the awards to our exceptional specialty volunteers for the fine effort they put in during 2017 in addition to our Solo trophies for the winners of their respective classes.

We will also have another driving sim rig from Crimson Simulation and instead of a stand-alone setup there will be two for some head-to-head action for those who are up for it.

Please, come on by at 2PM to watch the finish of the 24 Hours of Daytona, food will be ready by 3PM and our presentation occurring a bit later. Free food, drinks, and conversation to be had by all comers!

The second immediate event is the annual National Convention in Las Vegas where we will have three members of board attending. One of them, assistant RE Peter Schneider, has been invited out to make presentation on a topic he's intimately involved in: Roadrally as a Social Event. Wish him confidence and luck in their sessions!

I think that’s enough for now, anticipate another message in early February after the conclusion of the convention and awards event with even more juicy details from each.

Stay fast and smooth friends!
